The ad doesn't work at all for the following reasons:
ReplyDelete1- The ad is too busy! too much information to read.
2- The font isn't easy to read.
3- The combination of visuals is way too much
4- The ad is poorly designed, it doesn't look like a professional ad at all. Very basic with many errors.
Here are some ways to improve it:
1- Change the text font.
2- Add other contact information. Facebook, and Twitter.
3- The visuals has to be changed to something that is more emotional. Ex: A mother hugging her kids.
4- The design layout has to be reorganized from the begging.
5- The quality of some visuals is too poor. Has to change it to something that has a higher quality resolution.
6- Make a USP to make people remember you easily.

I agree with Hamad as I think that this ad does not work. As Hamad mentioned the ad has too much information, the font is not easy to read, and the layout and design of the ad is not good. Additionally, I also agree with Hamad regarding the visual that should be used instead of the flowers. As Hamad stated the visual should be something special such as a mother hugging her kids. This is because it is not the usual Mother’s day with flowers.
Therefore, we can conclude that due to these reasons the ad does not work.

ReplyDeleteTo me the ad does not work because of many different reasons. The ad has a lot of different information on it any you would not know how and where to look to get the information you want or need. The font is also difficult to read from a long distance and it also docent just make sense. The ad also should stick to the basics and not try to over do it by using to many colors and other sorts of things. the ad should use one good primary visual to state the purpose of the ad. I completely agree with Hamad that the ad does not work.

Delete1. The ad has lot of different information – the ad is for a promotion of mother’s day offers, the text is appropriate for the mother’s day theme and is designed to enhance emotional appeal. I do not believe that there is excessive text or information.
2. You would not know where to look for information – I do not agree , the title is properly located at the top of the page, the link is at the bottom left , email address and web address with contact number is prominently displayed . I agree that the missing information is the product price and promotional offer details.
3. Font is difficult to read from a long distance –I disagree and believe that the font size is appropriate for the page size.
4. Ad should stick to the basics and not over do it – I believe that the information provided is basic. The text describing the virtues of a mother is designed for attracting the attention of sons and daughters urging them to treat their mothers for a special lunch or dinner.
5. Too many colors, instead use one good primary visual to state purpose of ad – I believe that the color scheme is visually appealing and is appropriate for the theme of mothers day.

I think that this ad does not work because of the following reasons:
1) The type size is small which makes it hard to read. Also, the font used makes reading the ad difficult.
2) The body copy has too much information and the message is not direct. The reader might get bored as there is too much to read for an advertisement.
3) The visual at the bottom right overlaps with the body copy. This does not look professional.
4) The layout of the ad is not good; this is because it is better to have all the contact information given together at the bottom. However, in this ad there is a website given in the body copy. Therefore, the customer might not notice the website given in the body copy, if the customer just looks at the other contact information provided at the bottom left.
5) Having flowers as visuals and stating in the body copy that this Mother’s day should not be the usual one with flowers contradicts. This is because it does not make sense to use flowers while stating that it should be a special day. If so, then using special visuals other than flowers would be more effective.
6) It is not clear what the headline is. The headline is hanging at the top with two others which is pretty confusing.
I would make the following to improve this ad:
1) Increase the type size and change the font into something more readable.
2) Break down the body copy into bullet points to make the message direct and to deliver it easily.
3) Rearrange the layout of the ad by placing all the contact information together, even the website that it given in the body copy.
4) Having a catchy headline such as “Make it a Special Mother’s Day!” Also, I would have only one sentence in large type size at the top to make it clear that this is the headline.
However, the colors used in the ad reflect the warm feelings, the love, and care that are shown on this day. Also, the ad has many action steps such as “Visit” and “Click.”
I agree with most of Nours comments about this ad. The fact that it’s too messy, the heading is unclear, and that the entire ad sends mixed signals. The only thing I would disagree with Nour on is the fact that she thought the visuals used reflect warmth and love. In my opinion, the colors clash with each other and don’t make the ad look attractive or presentable.

I think that the ad does not work for the following reasons:

2) Using different font types in the same ad in my opinion is not a good idea which makes it difficult for people to read.
3) Pictures of the flowers is a good idea, but does not represent the meassage of the ad.
4) The picture of flowers in the right-bottom of the ad overlaps the text.
5) Ad tracking is provided like the telephone number, however there is no location address so people can go see what the product looks like before purchasing it.

DeleteI disagree with what Kuwait's American Muscle says about using different fonts. In this ad they only use two main fonts, which is acceptable in terms of designing. Choosing the right font, which is easy to read, is what is going to make the ad better.
I also disagree with adding the location. I do not think that they need to add the location because it is an online distribution company. The best thing to do is ad visuals of the products.

3. I would put the heading in a way to make it stand out.
4. I would only use one type font for the message and a different (larger) one for the heading.
5. Since mother’s day is an event that occurs every year, I would create a USP to make the ad more memorable.
6. I would rearrange the contact information in a way that they will all be placed next to each other, to market easier to read.
I agree with most of Hibba's points about how the ad is too busy lacking major purpose, how the message is unclear, the usage of font in a wrong way. Also how visuals overlap and therefore seem unattractive. The point i agree most with that Hibba has said, would be the action step, if there isn't any how does the company ad expect to guide its consumers?

5. There is ad tracking, contact phone number is given along with website and email address. The customer response can be tracked.

What I will do to improve the ad.
1. Promotion offer price is not available and should be included in the ad.
2. The ad should have link to Twitter, Facebook page since most customers would look at social media channels for information.
3. Product image should be part of the visuals in the ad.

However, I do agree with how to improve the ad, as I stated in my comment adding an image can have a big effect on their advertisement and making products.

I disagree with Noor as i think that the ad does not work at all. nevertheless, i think the text is touchy yet not effective. I also disagree with the fact that ad tracking is a strength in this ad because i think ad tracking is made for the company's own benefit in order to know how successful was the ad, but not for the effectiveness of it, meaning, ad tracking does not make the ad more appealing to the reader.

ReplyDelete1-The ad format is out of place. To start with, font size is too small and disturbing to read, font type is unattractive and difficult to understand.
2-The ad visuals are overlapping, therefore readers would avoid it due to the positioning of this visuals.
3-If the purpose of the ad to give something on mother's day that would be rare and not done before, why are the visuals imposing flowers? i don't think that sends the right message to its readers.
4-Contact information is limited. Social media is now the way to communicate with your consumers. Therefore adding a Facebook and Twitter page is vital.
5-Premium choice has plenty of competition, therefore adding a condensed usp that helps make it stand out and display its brand image, would definitely help readers remembering the ad.
6-There isn't any action steps! This whole ad purpose is for consumers to buy your product, call you for more information or even visit your shops! If so, where is "Call us", "visit us" , "first come,first serve". Anything catchy could do the trick.

I agree with Farouq as I think that the ad does not work. As Farouq mentioned the type size is small, the visual overlaps with the body copy, and the use of social media would have improved the advertisement. Therefore, we can conclude that the ad does not work.

I think that this ad does not work because of the following reasons:

- Way too much info crowded into the layout making it look exhausting to read and will make me lose peoples attention. - I would keep it simple to the point; though the poem ads emotion to the ad its just too much.

DeleteObviously, this ad does not work. Starting with the colors, there are seven different colors in this ad. ¬¬is that healthy for an ad? I don’t think so. The colors, also, are so divergent colors. For example, orange, white & purple for flowers is too much. Moving to the text, the ad contains six different fonts & that, for sure, will break the theme. Another thing, the font they use for the body is so old fashion. It might work but never for this ad. It also contains so much text. The headline, positioned too high. The size of the headline is small, even smaller than the date of the event. No ad tracking at all. How to fix it, I think simply I’ll change almost everything. Shrink the text, change the colors, adding better visuals & adding better contacts information.

I think this advertisement does not work. Here are my reasons:
ReplyDelete1) What is the product they are trying to sell? It is very unclear!
2) There is too much to read in the advertisement.
3) Where is the primary visual? This refers back what is the product?
4) The headline and condensed USP are misleading. I am not sure which is which. Is the headline “Happy Mother’s Day” or is it, “It pays to plan in advance ”.
5) The date shown is capitalized when it does not need to be capitalized. Any capitalization should be done to emphasize the headline, condensed USP or product name.
6) The product cute shown, is too many. They should be minimized to one to three images, thus to create a non-busy advertisement.
The thing I think the advertisement has done well is the ad tracking. They have included a website, a phone number, email, and a place where they can click to find out more of the product (even though it is not known what the product is).

First of all, this is an online ad for Premium Choice Distributors, which is the online distribution arm of FGSynergy General Trading Company W.L.L; they are focused on Premium US food products (center of the plate meat & seafood items).
I believe that this ad does not work because:
1- The color yellow represents grieving and mourning in Kuwait. It is the color that has been used for all posters and everything else related to the P. O. W. (prisoners of war) issue. Yet yellow is the color of happiness, hope and warmth in the West. Premium Choice is a company that distributes for an American company and they did not put into consideration the different cultures.
2- There is too much body text; the font is not easy to read.
3- White text on a yellow background hurts the eyes.
4- The ad does not show what it represents clearly. The logo is not clear and not big to see.
5- It looks like a mother’s day school poster rather than an ad for a food distribution company.
6- The visuals and text overlap in some areas.
7- The headline is not clear to me. Is it “Happy mother’s day” or is it “It pays to plan in advance”?
8- The products are listed at the bottom of the ad but not clear to the reader. I did not what they were until I visited the company’s website.
9- There are no product cuts of their products.
Things I like about the ad:
1- The hyperlink can be used as the ad tracking, (click here).
2- Products are listed at the bottom.
3- The HALAL, Frozen Fresh and USDA choice grade logos are in the ad, which give the company credibility.
4- It states a payment method, which is Knet.
5- The contrasting color for yellow is purple. The strongest visible contrast is black on yellow.
6- They have enough contact information.

This Ad does not works for many reasons, here are some reasons and how to fix them:
1- The Ad is too busy! Because to things:
A- The text. There is a lot of information to catch.
B- The colors used are too hot.
2- The font is confusing not easy to read at all.
3- The combination of visuals is not effective at all.
How to improve it:
1- The Ad should have a primary visual that has mother holding her kids so it will attract people or customer emotion.
2_The Ad is too shiny because it is too busy. Using colors such, yellow and orange will heart eye. In my opinion, adding blue color to the Ad would be smart idea to improve it. For example; yellow is a hot color always effective to grab people’s attention if it’s used in a correct way. Otherwise, a lot of yellow color will make the Ad too busy and eye tiring. Blue is a cold color and it is effective to calm people and make them feel comfortable. Therefore, when we use them in one Ad; the Ad will be balanced and attractive.
3- Use fewer words in the text and fix the text font to make it easier to read and more interesting.
4- they should add attractive USP to attract more audience.
5- Add some social network accounts such Facebook and Twitter, there for the Ad will be more trackable and grab people attention.

I think this ad doesn't work for the following reasons.
ReplyDelete1) I could not decide which line was the headline, there is no clear and catchy statement.
2) The colors are not reading-friendly at all neither is the font type.
3) The ad did not attract me at all and i did not know what is the product they are selling, the word " especial " doesn't represent any value, meaning, everyone wants to get something special and extraordinary for his mom on the mothers day and the word special doesn't tell us whats exactly in there.
4) No catchy visuals, even the flowers look bad !
5) The layout is so missed up and there is a lot of text all over.
6) A major failure point here would be that no one celebrates mother's day on the 13th of May in Kuwait. which makes me wonder who are they promoting this for?
I really think that the website looks way much better than the ad. They could have used some of the website's visuals in the ad instead of the current design.
